Main character: The Guide (Robo cop's partner, Blond, short hair)
(Recognizable characters: Lara, Sierra others…?)
Future: Earth (as we know it) is no longer. However through hundreds of years of work and allowing the earth time to purify itself the planet is slowly getting closer to the possibility of recolonization.
The dream takes place on a giant space station. Several adults have been reconstituted from their DNA, and their memories restored. Unfortunately most people are from an era when the planet was livable, and space technology (and many other technologies) were limited.
The guide's job is to take the new people on a tour and explain the situation. Over a period of time the adults are evaluated to see if they would thrive in this new environment. Most can not, and so they are allowed to sleep and be returned to DNA form where they will have no memory of what happened. (Later on many of them will be "cloned" and allowed to grow up in the new environment. One that already has a stable population of adults and normal age distribution).
In one large room the guide shows us their experiments on finding healthy plant communities that they slowly add more species to from the same geographical location on former earth. This will make the reseeding process easier and prevent mistakes like putting rats or possums in new zealand. Once the planet has been reseeded and animals have had a chance to have several generations people (adults reconstituted with memories) would slowly start to recolonize in different locations using techniques similar to permaculture.
