Outer Space!

I am also particularly fond of dreams that include characters I love that others have created. :) Did I mention I love Science Fiction? Be it book, movie or television, it is a rich playground indeed. I also adore insects..

In part of the dream we are in a casual meeting room with a replicator, couches and a board table. It’s where officers prepare for the day reading reports, having coffee, and catching up. (Next generation) Picard looks like he is wearing a grey “on leave” outfit. Troi and Riker are also present.

An alien vessel is hovering in the sky passively. Stephen Harper ascends a ramp in a computerized machine along with one of the aliens. He successfully navigates the ceremonial greeting and opening of talks/negotiations. Unfortunately as the talks progress Harper does or says something that completely disrupts things. (though what it is exactly is unknown).  Spock, Picard and some of his officers are called upon to amend the situation. They realize they must tread very carefully now.

The story starts out centred around a group of people who are capable of space travel. They are a moderately sized group between 100-300 people (approx). A smaller group of scouts/specialists is attempting to fix a marooned space ship orbiting a dim planet. On the surface there is an encampment and the landscape is somewhat barren to the untrained eye. The people are in conflict with and possibly fleeing another group.

These people have trained incredibly large insect like creatures to help with transport, they are also capable of space travel. (These ones similar in appearance to Giant Water Bugs, roughly the size of a truck)

There is some sort of element that is found all throughout the universe, but is concentrated in certain pockets. Another at least 4x larger insect creature has discovered the human activity and is curious and follows them to the dim planet (which always seems to be in state of twilight). In the dream I am now in the perspective of the large creature and am speaking with one of the giant water bugs, the people do not realize how intelligent their companions are. Something that the humans are doing or perhaps the planet itself has created an unusual concentration of the element. The smaller creature tells the respected larger that they have been able to "reach Gaia" because of this. The larger creature reflects on the incredible possibilities of this.

What I have forgotten is the extensive scene with some of the people attempting to complete a particular operation/mission in space.

Of Heroes

These complex imagined world dreams are truly those I enjoy most! Adventures, interesting characters and otherworldly creatures and beings. Hurrah!

April 25 2012

It was prophesized that the baby Gato would be the one to defeat the evil and powerful man that threatened the peaceful existence of the people. At a young age the enemy tried to assassinate Gato, but the plot was foiled. When Gato was young one of the best in their art of fighting appeared to train him. Although some of his tutor’s mysterious skills eluded him. Gato lives in a mountain near to one of the central cities.

However our story follows the young Yoshi, who is raised by disciplined monks who teach him the way of the honourable warrior. With them he learns some of the mysteries and drawing on good energy possesses mysterious skills. He grows up in a lush valley area where humans and other intelligent beings live peacefully together. (these people are very different in form from humans). One day his masters receive an urgent message from the monks from the central mountains. They quickly bring Yoshi to the mountain. Gato and Yoshi meet, and the monks reveal to them that they were switched as babies to save the real Gato (Yoshi) from assassination, knowing the enemy would know the boy living here was not the one they truly sought. Both young men laugh to discover their real names, each having grown up with the other’s name, and choose to keep the name they grew up with as each is more appropriate to the region they grew up in and can’t imagine changing now.

Late one night Gato’s mysterious tutor appears and immediately Yoshi knows he is the enemy. Gato is shocked to discover this and it soon becomes clear that he could not learn his master’s mysteries because he was drawing on evil energy and Gato was truly good. Gato wishes to join Yoshi, but the enemy, though cruel has become fond of Gato and quickly eliminates him from the fight.

That is all I can remember except that Yoshi must have won as there is a scene where his friends join the parade at the edge of the tree-village near the central city. (Surprising many human-folk by their strangeness and some by their enormous size, only a few, smaller non-humans live in the central cities).

And I also tell Matthew about my dream in my dream. And have a dream about Matthew and I that eludes me now.

Pleasant Beings, Oh where art thou?

May 15, 2011

Much of the story of this dream has been lost. But it centers around a woman from another realm. The very few people of Earth who know of them refer to them as “no face” people. They are called this because when they reveal themselves to humans they only remove a drama mask shaped part of their disguise, which covers their face. The “no face” people are roughly shaped like humans but their skin/bodies looks like you are looking at a pool reflecting light. Sometimes it is darker like an ocean, others lighter like a glacial pool. They may have eyes but no ears, mouth, nose or other facial features. As humans they are elegant people who prefer billowing, flowing clothing, and they have startlingly blue eyes. If they stay on Earth long enough their disguise ages at a slower rate than a human, allowing them to blend in with the people around them. They do not travel between realms lightly, and to do so is difficult and must be done with precision under particular circumstances. A kind of portal has been made from an unassuming wooden sculpture of a carousel; two of the figures are a monkey and an elephant. Under the tented top is where a disc appears of shimmering blue.

The no face people often come to Earth either to learn or to help return things to balance. The one woman spent a very long time here both learning and completing her mission. She usually carried with her two journal sized leather bound books and another object of similar scale, perhaps a picture or parchment, map, guide, it is not made clear. At the end of the first story arc, the woman is quite old, that is her disguise is old, no face people seem ageless to us.  She wants dearly to return home although she has made many good friends here during their time. In the end they succeed in sending her home. One of her friends keeps the carousel and it is passed down in their family.

At some point a human does go to their realm to learn knowing they will be unable to return to Earth.

In the second story arc a young male acolyte of their kind tries a new way to help shift the balance. They do so by sliding into the consciousness of a willing host and guiding them. Such a person is found in the descendants of the woman’s friend, although he knows the host is young the no face has little experience with humans in their entirety and has much to learn. At one point he reflects that he should owe his elder no-face (not the name they call themselves) for placing him within the body of a toddler. (He does not mind that she is a girl but finds the sensation of urinating discomforting, and it seems to him that the little one has to do so very frequently.) The little girl potty trains very quickly with his guidance. He guides her gently but not overwhelmingly, they are as one but our language cannot describe the phenomenon adequately. The little girl has at least two older siblings a boy and a girl.

That is all I recall!
