Portal to another world

A fragment... So much of the story, characters and things that I saw were lost to the dream fog... Time to get back into practise!

Sept 26, 2013

The most distinct part of my dream was sitting at a rigged up office/mini base of operations. There were two copies of an ancient text that were black leather bound, I had one, they had the other. There were two or three people who, though I don't think they were enemies, I wasn't very happy that they had a copy. They wanted me to give them some information, but I wasn't too sure about my information and I certainly didn't want to share it with them. They had rigged the book up to their computer system - and then somehow they hit on the right combination of settings and a portal opened that took them all into it.

I definitely did not want them to be where they had just gone. I went to their side of the table. My copy of the book was in my pack, I also had a camera and a few other objects. Everything was already set up, so I readjusted their book and a portal opened right over the computer screen. It looked small but I stuck my hands in and I began to be pulled through. It looked like one of those 3D image pictures with a mishmash of colours all swirling together. It felt oddly like being in a plastic tunnel everything was smooth. I was worried I might go to the wrong place, there were tunnels branching up, down, right and left.. But I seemed to be guided as I slid through, past most branches, through others. And then I ended up at the bottom of a verdant hill. Covered in trees and vines, a lush valley extended out. Fantastic plants, and creatures! I took a picture of a horse-like being. Then behind a break in a stone wall (that was mostly obscured by plants and vines. I saw a baboon/manticore creature that gave me a very unfriendly look. It spoke to me but I couldn't understand. The creature came around the wall, and stood up on hind legs (equally comfortable on all fours and standing) I think I lost my balance and my hand landed on the creatures furred arm. He smiled, and when he spoke I could understand him clearly - so relieved, I smiled back and I explained my situation. (Which I knew in the dream, but is a fog to me now). He immediately led me up the steep hillside to a palatial building built into the rock.

I remember it being important that I document as much as I could. And there was a lot. But I also knew I had to hurry because the other three had come through already. And I didn't know if they came out in the same location.

Later it was explained to me by an ally in the verdant world that the creatures could understand me when I touched them because of a stone that I carried. I had it all along and didn't even realize. By chance it had already helped me a few times.
